Utility rebate program platform for Nicor Gas

The challenge

Utility rebate programs involve many applications, rules and review steps. Managing them with spreadsheets and email makes it hard to keep track of each case and to report on the program.

What we built

We delivered a proprietary platform based on uPMS, our utility program management system, adapted to the client’s programs.

• Application intake with the information each program requires.
• Review and approval steps with a clear status for every application.
• Program reporting so administrators can follow progress at any time.

Built on what already works

Instead of starting from zero, we reused the parts of uPMS that already solved common needs and focused the effort on each program’s specific rules. The same approach also serves other utility companies, such as Merc Water.
